Mangos Southern Kitchen and Bar: Reviews & Ratings
Made a reservation, was seated right away, the air conditioner was pumping which we appreciated after getting our drinks because the rum punch was so good but strong (you can't taste the alcohol). Waiter Alex was so friendly and gave great recommendations. We tried most of the menu lol but the Oxtails did not disappoint.
Came here to celebrate my cousins birthday and we had an amazing time with a great server Brittany. The food was amazing, full of flavour. The atmosphere was such a good vibe with the music.
Mango’s was an amazing experience from start to finish! The customer service was incredible, and our server was friendly, attentive, and gave great recommendations. Including the Amber’s Bliss cocktail, which was excellent! I had the Oxtails with Grits, and they were perfectly seasoned, tender, and full of flavor. The grits were creamy and delicious. My friends ordered the Fried Catfish with Grits, which was crispy, well-seasoned, and cooked perfectly. We also shared the Sweet Potato French Toast with Fried Chicken Wings such a unique and tasty combo! The French toast had amazing flavor, and the chicken wings were breaded just right. I also love that Mango’s offers the option to sit outside on the patio for Sunday brunch with a DJ playing great music, it gives the place such a fun vibe! We chose to sit inside, which was cozy and comfortable. Overall, delicious food, great music, and top-tier service. I’ll definitely be back for another brunch!
This was our 1st visit. We were celebrating our 23rd Anniversary and everything from the food, service, and atmosphere was AMAZING!!! We didn't have a reservation but were able to get a table on the balcony which was a beautiful setting with curtains, lights, and a DJ. Everyone greeted you with kindness and a smile. Tremoni our server was so pleasant and patient since I spilled and broke my sangria glass seconds after being served. He was very attentive and constantly made sure we were ok. For drinks we ordered the red Sangria and Stella. I had my fair share of red Sangrias and this tasted like a tropical drink. It was not red and too sweet for a red Sangria. I thought there was a mixup with my order and no it was their housemade red Sangria but Tremoni was kind enough to remove it without me asking since it didn't meet my expectations. The food superseded my expectations with the exception of the yams. In my honest opinion I felt like it had too much spice (I was getting too much nutmeg) but I'm no chef. The complementary corn bread with a drizzle of honey was perfection. Mac n cheese was velvety, collard greens were very smoky but still enjoyable. 1st time trying lamb chops and they were very tender. I will definitely order them again. My husband enjoyed the lobster shrimp cajun pasta and the sauce was superb. I plan to return and try the fried red snapper and oxtail.
I absolutely enjoyed everything about this restaurant. I was seated immediately by warm and welcoming staff. Everyone that I encountered was AMAZING! Last night was my first time visiting and my waiter took the time to explain the menu to me and offer some suggestions. I ended up ordering the oxtails with rice and peas and plantains. Amazing!!! The vibe and ambiance of the restaurant was definitely it. I don't live in Tampa but I would definitely make the 2 hour drive to try different items on their menu.
One of my favorite restaurants in Tampa! The food is always on point and the portions are huge. I highly recommend the collard greens dip, turkey wings, lamb chops, and oxtail! They have implemented so much of the customer feedback since they first opened and that’s one of the many reasons why I respect them so much. They really care about the customers and they are always trying to make the customer experience top notch. We always feel like family when we go in there and tonight was no different. We got to have Tremani as our server - he was so attentive and made our experience 10x better.
This past weekend, five of my family members and I enjoyed an incredible brunch at Mangos Southern Kitchen, and it was everything we hoped for and more. Our server, Brittney, took exceptional care of our table. She was attentive, warm, and proactive in meeting our needs. A special thank-you as well to the General Manager, NZ, who graciously accommodated my request for outdoor seating, making the experience even more enjoyable. The music set the perfect tone, the food was delicious and beautifully presented, and the DJ was phenomenal (so much so that I grabbed his card for future work!). The ambience was vibrant yet relaxed, ideal for family time and celebration. Mangos remains a non-negotiable staple whenever my family comes to visit. Consistently great service, energy, and atmosphere highly recommend!
Haley was an amazing server and provided for a wonderful first experience at this restaurant. Her drink recommendation was spot on for my wife’s taste (ambers bliss). The oxtail in their original gravy was flavorful and well cooked. The pepper steak was well done (my wife hates pink) and still tender and flavorful. The egg roll appetizer was also a hit which ms Haley also recommended. The overall experience was great and I’m very happy with where we chose to celebrate our anniversary. The DJ was also a nice unexpected touch. The music was diverse but also not too loud so we still could eat, jam and talk. We will definitely be back and Haley was def a big part of that.
